Group Activity Support Volunteer

Are you passionate about supporting parents with children and young people receiving mental health support?

-An expected minimum commitment one day a week for at least 6 months for this role
- Volunteer role, agreed expenses paid
- Location: West London

You will be part of our child and adolescent mental health service (CAMHS) where we provide mental health assessment and treatment for children and young people aged 0 to 18, and support for their families in Ealing, Hammersmith and Fulham, and Hounslow.

We’re not a hospital and we don’t have beds, but we do have many different specialists who are experts in children’s and young people’s emotional and mental health.

As Group Activity Support Volunteer you will be working closely with our clinical team to help with the organising of our incredible parent groups supporting a Non-Violence Resistance (NVR) approach, which brings about changes in the parent-child relationship where there is violent, destructive and/or controlling behaviours. NVR can help parents and carers to overcome feelings of helplessness. NVR also helps to develop and maintain a support network around the family.

In return we will offer you:

  • A full induction, training or brief to your role
  • On-going support and guidance from a member of staff
  • The opportunity to develop your personal and professional skills
  • The opportunity to get involved in other areas of The Trust’s work, including NHS careers
  • Provide you with a uniform
  • Reimbursement of reasonable expenses
  • The opportunity to contribute to our mission supporting outstanding patient care.
