Living Well - Event Support Volunteer - Ealing Smoke Free Outreach Event
Make a real difference in a day - Could you help Ealing residents take their first step towards a smokefree life?

Who will see the difference? Residents of Ealing Borough currently smoking and experiencing health inequalities
Ealing Smokefree service have organised a health stall event. Current smokers who live in Ealing or who have a GP surgery registered in Ealing have been invited to complete a smoking cessation initial assessment, physical health check and get information about some of the organisations we partner with. This is a unique event to celebrate Selfcare Awareness Month. We are fortunate to be joined be a mindfulness and yoga sessions running at the event. Some of the other organisations or services joining us are Trading Standards, Shaw Trust and the Youth Vaping Project.
The volunteering activity
We are looking for volunteers to support with the health check section of our event. Specifically taking the height and weight of the patients. The patients will complete their blood glucose and their blood pressure check with one of our Health Care Assistants.
Additional volunteers will be welcoming patients and helping them find their way around the event.
Considerations:
During the events there will always be a tobacco dependence specialist and health improvement practitioner available to support with any queries. There will also be a debrief after each event to offer support to our volunteers.
