Disasters come in all kinds of forms, from headline-making tornadoes, floods, and blizzards to personal disasters, such as home fires. But, whatever disaster strikes, you can be assured The Salvation Army's Emergency Disaster Services personnel will be on hand providing comfort, care, and assistance to both victims and first responders. Volunteers are needed for both behind the scenes and front line disaster work. While every disaster is unique and creates its own special needs, the core of The Salvation Army's Emergency Disaster Program consists of several basic provisions: food service, donations management, emergency communications, and emotional and spiritual care.
