Gift Shop Volunteer

Gift Shop Volunteers support the Ladies Board of Inova Loudoun Hospital, a Leesburg-based nonprofit organization that promotes goodwill between the hospital and community while raising funds for nursing scholarships, patient services and special projects. Volunteers help operate the Inova Loudoun Hospital Gift Shop on the Lansdowne Campus.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Assisting customers in person and by phone
• Operating the touch-screen point-of-sale system
• Processing cash and credit card transactions
• Taking and fulfilling phone orders
• Managing multiple customer needs and shop activities during the shift

Role requirements:
Volunteers must be comfortable working independently for the full three-hour shift, as scheduled breaks are not provided. This role may require standing or sitting for the duration of the shift. Volunteers should be comfortable using technology, communicating with customers and managing several tasks at once. Training on the point-of-sale system is provided.
