About us

Tŷ Hafan is a leading and much-loved charity that provides life-changing care and support to children with life-shortening conditions and their families who live in Wales.

At our welcoming and vibrant hospice in Sully, and in communities and homes across the country, we do all we can to help families enjoy time together and create precious memories.

We’re also a safe and loving haven when a child is close to the end of their life, providing comfort and expert care in a family’s darkest hours and beyond.

Put simply, we are a vital lifeline to our families. Easing their worries. Giving them hope of a brighter future. And helping them enjoy life again.

What do we mean by life-shortening?

We use the term life-shortening to describe a child not expected to live beyond 18 years of age.

We have supported over 1100 children since we opened in 1999.. and demand continues to grow!

We believe every child with a life-shortening illness deserves a life full of happiness and meaningful moments.

Our vision

A Wales where every child with a life-shortening condition lives a fulfilling life, supported with the compassion and specialist care, they and their family need.

Our mission

We'll achieve our vision by providing free, specialist care and support to children and young people with life-shortening conditions and their families that meet their all-round needs.

We'll provide our life-changing services in our vibrant hospice, communities across Wales and in the homes of the families we support.

We'll also push key decision makers to do more to ensure every child and young person with a life-shortening condition in Wales has a good quality of life.
