Within the Community Volunteer Services and Parkridge Centre, our focus is on providing volunteer opportunities that support the health of the communities that we serve.

Meals on Wheels Volunteers deliver nutritious meals to clients assessed as needing support with nutrition.
Personal accomplishment, develop and enhance communication skills, learn new job skills & obtain a work routine, being involved & giving back to community.
Volunteer picks up meals at given time from the outlet and delivers to client in their home.
Various routes available. Shift times are Monday - Friday delivered over the lunch hours
Fridays from 10:15-11:30 February -June
Assist with program particulars (ex. set-up/take down for a craft or game etc.) as required.
Assist with reminding residents about programs and portering them to/from programs when appropriate
Assist residents with successful completion of tasks/games, etc. as required.
Socialize and promote participation of residents in programs.
Volunteer will prepare material and meet with resident weekly in the afternoon (start time is flexible) to help teach her English as a second language. Residents first language is Arabic.
Requires knowledge in English and how to teach English to someone. Previous experience as a teacher or ESL teacher would be an added benefit.
Mondays from 1:15-2:45
Volunteers will gain experience assisting residents with a variety of physical and cognitive abilities to successfully engage in meaningful craft projects. Volunteers will gain social skills in small group and one-to-one interactions; building their communication and relationship-building skills. Volunteers will receive fulfillment in knowing that their time and support enables residents to participate where they may not have otherwise due to staffing restrictions.

Parkridge Centre (PRC) is a long term care home that is located on the west side of Saskatoon. PRC is owned an operated by the SHA and maintains approximately 210 beds within the facility.
