Patient Companion - Lister Hospital
Tasks:
- Based on same ward each week.
- Meal service - delivering meals/encouraging patients to eat. Cutting food/opening packets as required.
- Under direction of staff, spend time with patients who would like to talk/need distraction/company
- Read to patient, quietly chat or simply hold their hand.
- Advise staff if patient is uncomfortable/in pain.
- Ensure patients aware of facilities i.e. chaplaincy/ patient experience teams
- Request visits on behalf of patient by Chaplaincy/patient experience teams.
- Assist patients to complete Friends & Family Test (FFT) questionnaire
Shift pattern:
Monday - Sunday
- 8am - 11am
- 11am - 2pm
- 5pm - 8pm
