Volunteers will help keep dogs separated, ensure they have water, encourage them to create paintings (put paint on a shirt, but shirt inside bag, cover bag w/ treat so dog licks paint around shirt, give shirt to screenprinters), talk to guests about the process and how it’s part of our enrichment program at the shelter, and help screenprinters in any way necessary. One of the exhibits will be a table where guests can learn about microchips, the value of a collar and tag on their pet, and read the story of Yoshi who went missing for two months and was in our care until his owner just happened to see him in one of our Facebook posts. They were happily reunited - but they never should have been separated in the first place. This exhibit is all about prevention. We’ll have our tag machine there, info about microchips, and if people register their pet with DocuPet while standing there, they can enter to win a free GPS tracker and subscription from DocuPet.
