Program Preparations

Purpose:

Program Preparations Assistants work closely with Nature Centre staff to prepare for the next compelling, interactive, and memorable program! Supporting the mission and vision, the Program Preparations Assistants help out behind the scenes at the Nature Centre to enable our team to deliver programs like: Big Bird Little Bird, Junior Naturalists/Trail Blazers, Extreme by Nature, and Day Camps. 

Location: 

Program Preparation Assistants work both indoors and outdoors at the Helen Schuler Nature Centre located north of the High Level Bridge via Indian Battle Road and 3rd Avenue South.

Role:

  • Provide assistance to Program Leaders in advance of Nature Centre programs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a role model.
  • Assist with planning and preparations of programs.
  • Be enthusiastic, respectful, and provoking wonder in the natural world.
  • Complete repetitive tasks to ensure adequate amounts of supply are ready for the next program.
  • Ensure program participant safety.
  • Maintain cleanliness of Nature Centre workroom.
  • Provide general interpretation.
