Team Leader

This is a Specialized and Leadership Volunteer Role.

Team Leaders manage groups of volunteers and act as the main point of contact between venue staff and volunteers and the Volunteer Office. Team Leaders are responsible for assigning tasks to volunteers, rotating their team through breaks and are experts at creating a fun and focused atmosphere. Between March and June, a Volunteer Team Leader is expected to attend the following activities:

  • Interview with Luminato staff (April) - for new Team Leaders only
  • Luminato Volunteer Orientation Session (May)
  • Luminato Volunteer Team Leader Training Session (May)
  • Luminato Festival shifts (June)

Skills/requirements

  • Experienced Luminato volunteer
  • Friendly and personable
  • Reliable and organized
  • Previous leadership experience considered an asset

Expectations

  • Attend an interview with Luminato staff
  • Attend Volunteer Orientation and Volunteer Team Leader Training sessions
  • Act as liaison between the venue staff, volunteers and the Volunteer Office
  • Sign volunteers in/out, assign roles and give breaks
  • Complete a Team Leader Report after every shift
  • Create an inclusive, collaborative, professional and fun working environment for your team
  • Weekend & evening work required, particularly during the festival
