Virtual Talk Time
This volunteer opportunity is currently virtual only, and there are no available openings for new volunteers.
Interested in helping newcomers gain confidence in speaking English? Virtual Talk Time is a program for English conversation practices that allows ESL/ELL community members to practice their English language skills and connect with others in an information and safe space. Facilitate conversations cover a wide range of topics. Groups are currently offered on Tuesdays 10:00-11:00am and Thursdays 6:00-7:00pm.
Qualifications & Skills Needed:
18 or older
Fluent or proficient in English (Proficiency in other languages is not required but is helpful)
Basic facilitation skills
Ability to work with minimal guidance from staff
Access to a personal device with reliable internet access
Familiarity with basic Zoom features
A patient and understanding demeanor
Experience working or volunteering with multicultural groups is preferred
Time commitment: 1 hour per week.
Physical requirements: Ability to operate a computer, phone, or tablet to access Zoom.
