Recreation Assistant Volunteer
Recreation Therapy requires volunteers to help in various resident focused activities. Volunteers have loads of fun participating in the Recreation programs such as music, bowling, crib, fitness, baking, crafts, special events, and much more!
Some responsibilities are:
- Assist Recreation Staff with setting up the recreation program.
- Assist in portering residents to and from the program.
- Assist in motivating residents during the program.
- Assist Recreation Staff in clean-up at the end of the program.
- Promote a sense of well-being and contribute to the morale of the residents.
Following the monthly recreation calendar, self-scheduling based on your availability. Weekly volunteering is desirable.
The Strathcona campus has three areas of which to assist in the recreation area. Heritage house, Harvest House and Laurier House.
