Public Health - PRACTICE EXERCISE: Emergency Volunteer Actors

Arapahoe County Public Health (ACPH) is looking for volunteers to participate in a full-scale emergency preparedness exercise!

This exercise helps us practice how we respond during a real public health emergency so we can be better prepared to keep our county safe. By volunteering, you'll help us improve our plans and make sure we're ready when public health emergencies happen. You will also see behind-the-scenes into how Public Health supports our local community.

Sign up to play the role of a community member during a fictional meningitis outbreak linked to a wrestling tournament at the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds.

  • Location: Trails Recreation Center (16799 E Lake Ave, Centennial, CO 80016)
  • Date/Time: January 13th, 2027, 9:00am – 3:00 pm

As part of the scenario, ACPH will open a Point of Dispensing (POD), a temporary clinic set up during public health emergencies to quickly provide medications or vaccines to large numbers of people.

  • As a volunteer, you'll walk through the POD just like you would during a real emergency.
  • You'll answer a few triage questions, complete a short form, and receive simulated medication (Skittles or M&M's).

No real medications or medical procedures will be involved. This is an emergency preparedness exercise.

Volunteers will be required to sign both a liability form and a photo/video release. New volunteers must go through the County's standard application and background check process.

Sign up by October 14th!

Qualifications Required

  • Background Check Must be at least Passed (Only required for ages 18+)
