Reserved for Groups - Repack Project - Target

** This event is for Target only **

What is the Repack Project?

Volunteers at EFN’s Repack Project prepare bulk foods for distribution by repackaging the foods into smaller, family-sized portions. Bulk foods include rice, beans, oats, pasta, frozen corn and peas, melons, apples,  Once repackaged the food is ready to go out to the 71 Pierce County food pantries, meal sites, and shelters that we serve. Each year, volunteers repackage more than 1.5 million pounds of food, equivalent to 3 meals-a-day for a year for 274 families of four!

What are the volunteer qualifications?

  • Experience: No repacking experience necessary! EFN staff will provide you with orientation, training, and supervision.
  • Physical Requirements: Volunteers need to be able to lift up to 50 pounds either individually or with a partner. When repacking produce, volunteers need to be able to bend down to grab the produce out of bins that are at floor level.
  • Minimum Age: The minimum age to volunteer as an individual at the Repack is 16. Youth ages 12-15 can volunteer with a parent or guardian. All youth under the age of 17 need to bring a signed Parental Consent Form when they come to volunteer.
