Are you a high school student looking to gain hands-on experience, build your resume, and make an impact in your community? Become a NextGen in Action Volunteer and be part of a team helping residents live vibrant, meaningful lives in our long-term care facilities 🏡💛.

🙌 About the Role:
As a NextGen in Action Volunteer, you’ll join the Recreation Team to support programs that bring joy, connection, and engagement to residents. Whether you’re helping with an activity, lending a helping hand, or simply spending time with a resident, your presence will brighten someone’s day.

🎨 Activities You May Help With:
📚 Assisting with reading groups and book clubs
🧩 Puzzles, games, and trivia challenges
🎉 Bingo, birthday celebrations, and themed events
🎨 Arts, crafts, and creative workshops
🚶 Accompanying residents on walks
💃 Exercise and movement programs
🎄 Special events like holiday teas and parties
🚌 Supporting staff on volunteer outings

🗓 Schedule & Commitment:

• Commit 2.5 hours per week for 10 weeks (25 hours total)

• You will be paired with another youth volunteer and scheduled for one shift per week, keeping the same shift for all 10 weeks

• Shifts available (June 29- August 27):

  • Mondays 1:30pm-4pm
  • Tuesdays 1:30pm-4pm
  • Wednesdays 1:30pm-4pm
  • Thursdays 1:30pm-4pm
  • Fridays 1:30pm-4pm

• Must be a high school student & 16 years or older (or just graduated)
