Volunteer Programs - 1. Parks - Grass Cutting and Beautification
Want to help beautify a City space in your neighborhood, local park or trail by mowing or maintaining the grass through Spring, Summer and early Fall?
This is a seasonal commitment and a huge benefit to our community. Your sign-up here is an expression of interest in this program connect with our staff with your ideas to coordinate a plan.
Note; your signup here is an expression of interest; you will confirm your participation in this program and chose assignments once your training is complete.
Description of Responsibilities:
• grass cutting and beautification of a mutually agreed upon location in conjunction with parks staff
• Report vandalism/maintenance concerns.
Skills and Qualities Required:
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
Requirements:
- Minimum age of 16.
- Meet with Parks and Volunteer Services staff to coordinate a plan.
- Submit your Volunteer Agreement.
- Please note if you are under the age of 18 years old you will also need this form signed by a parent or guardian.
- Register for a Parks Orientation meeting which you will find under your volunteer profile opportunity tab. During this meeting we will review safety tips and pick-up your clean up supplies. If you are in a group only the group leader is required to attend this orientation. (at this time these meetings will be held over ZOOM)
- Volunteers must supply their own mowing and maintenace equipment. Some exceptions may be made please contact staff to dicusss your needs

Additional Information:
Individuals can record volunteer hours under "Hours Log" in their myvolunteerpage.com account. Staff will approve the hours you’ve logged.
All Volunteers for this program must be Level 1 approved. Levels 1 volunteers are those that have successfully completed their orientation, which includes a review of Clean-up safety guidelines.
