Volunteer Programs - 1. Parks - Adopt a Park/Trail
With over 192 parks in Abbotsford, there are plenty to choose from. Volunteers can pick up litter and report on vandalism or maintenance problems. This opportunity is perfect for individuals, clubs, corporate groups and schools.
Note; your signup here is an expression of interest; you will confirm your participation in this program and chose your location assignment once your training is complete.
Description of Responsibilities:
• Collect litter.
• Report vandalism/maintenance concerns.
• Garbage should be placed in the park garbage bin or your household waste collection.
Skills and Qualities Required:
• Ability to work independently.
Requirements:
- Minimum age of 14; unless with an organized group/organization or with parent/guardian supervision.
- Let us know what Park/Trail or Street you’d like to adopt.
- Submit your Volunteer Agreement.
- Please note if you are under the age of 18 years old you will also need this form signed by a parent or guardian.
- Register for a Parks Orientation meeting which you will find under your volunteer profile opportunity tab. During this meeting we will review safety tips and pick-up your clean up supplies. If you are in a group only the group leader is required to attend this orientation. (at this time these meetings will be held over ZOOM)
- Register for a Supply Pick up meeting to pick your supplies which you will find under your volunteer profile opportunity tab.

• Flexible to your schedule.
Location:
• Liaise with staff to determine an appropriate location.
Additional Information:
Individuals can record volunteer hours under "Hours Log" in their myvolunteerpage.com account. Staff will approve the hours you’ve logged.
All Volunteers for this program must be Level 1 approved. Levels 1 volunteers are those that have successfully completed their orientation, which includes a review of Clean-up safety guidelines.
