Bristol Parks Staff led groups - Blaise Estate Ranger Conservation Group

If you're looking to get involved at Blaise, we’d love to work with you.

Rangers Nic and Ian have put together a programme of Wednesday sessions, we hope will allow local residents to help support the Estate and learn lots in the process.

The plan for the next few months is as follows (activities outlined are subject to change):

Remove historic tree guards in woodland at echo gate. Prepare and paint lovers leap view point railings and potentially south bastion railings.

Move migrating sand in sand pit, Clean drain outside café, weed, shovel, clean seating area, wash water wall, wash office wall, wash bin/ bike stands.

Jacobs ladder steps, car park tidy. Maybe drain work if we can gain access.

Bench clearance x4, step clearance x2

Ivy wall removal, litter pick carpark and area from carpark to pumphouse, cut back encroaching vegetation by overflow carpark.  signs washed, kerbs / spaces cleared

Hill fort ash removal, copse area cut and clear into woodland. Steps by hillfort cleared. Build wildlife habitat for scrub.

Dig Gulley out on main drive, lovers leap path steps clear. Bins washed.

We are only able to run these sessions by carefully following current Covid-19 regulations. As of 29th March, we are capping the numbers per session depending on the type of task and potential for social distancing to become difficult.
