Dakota County advisory committees support county government by involving residents in the decision-making process, meeting requirements of state law, helping to define community norms and standards, providing technical expertise, serving as advocates, offering feedback, and reflecting the diverse interests of county clients and residents.

The Dakota County Board of Commissioners appoints members to nine advisory committees.

Member policy

Appointees cannot miss three consecutive meetings or 50 percent of the meetings during any consecutive 12-month period. For more information of committee policies, see the ​Advisory Committee Membership Policy.
