Dakota County Volunteer Network (DCVM) - 5.01: DCVN Sampling Series: Lawn Care/Adopt My Yard - DARTS
Dakota County Volunteer Network Sampling Series 2025
Interested in volunteering but not sure where to go? Looking to try a few things and see what best fits your interest and skill sets? Just looking to dip your toe in the water first? Then this is a great opportunity for you!
DCVN Sampling Series seeks to connect local volunteer programs with fresh faces and new interest from our local communities. These events are one-time commitments that seek to show participants a glimpse of an organization and the good work that they do with the option to get fully plugged in after the fact.
This Month's Event: Lawn Care/Adopt My Yard with DARTS
Volunteers play a crucial part in helping older adults remain independent in their own homes by providing a service that is either difficult or impossible for them to manage on their own. Keeping their lawns looking neat allows the older homeowners to maintain a feeling of pride in their property and helps them remain a vital part of their neighborhood! Volunteer as an individual or as a team of coworkers to help an older homeowner maintain their yard this May-October. This is a wonderful opportunity to see the impact you make in your community while making a connection that enriches aging! Flexible scheduling is available.
Sign up at https://dartsconnects.org/volunteer/ or call Lindy Engelken, at 651-234-2254.

Since 1974, DARTS has been a community-based nonprofit serving caregivers, older adults (55+) and their families in the southeast metro. DARTS recognizes the transition involved in aging and our history reflects our adaptiveness to address changing community aging needs. DARTS services empower older adults to age independently in place and support caregivers. Our services are available to all seniors and caregivers regardless of income, race, and background.
