Stony Plain Volunteer Centre

Tri Area Warriors Volleyball Club is looking for a Head and Assistant Coach. 

What are the Volunteer duties or responsibilities
Must be 18 years plus for a head coach. Previous athlete and/or coaching is an a
Minimum of 16 years old for assistant coach
Be a role model and a safe place for our athletes
Help to train and mentor your assistant coach
Work closely with a Team Manage
Communication with parents, club partners, administrator, and board member
Create a season summary plan and lesson planning
Develop your coaching philosophy
Develop and teach our next generation of men and women
Ensure the safety of participants, the working order of equipment, and the cleanliness of equipment rooms

Education/Knowledge Required
We provide training.
Having played in school and/or club is a great asset.
Great positive attitude.
Desire to develop and mentor the next generation of men and women.

All gyms are scheduled for you, and all registration of athletes is provided

Time commitment required
Time is a huge blessing:
o Competitive: 2-3 evenings biweekly, plus tournaments averaging 2/month (1 -two days, 1-one day) from February to
May, Lesson planning, Coach meetings
o Recreation: 2 evenings/week, plus 2-4 one-day tournaments per season, January to May
o Learn to Play: 10 one and a half hour sessions, Spring and Fall

1 Head Coach pre team, 1-4 Assistant Coaches pre team

Mostly online courses, which may include:
Safe Sport Training - 90 min
Making Head Way - 90 min
Making Ethical Decisions - 3-4 hours in person, online requirement
Making Ethical Decisions Evaluation - 10 - 30 min
Foundations of Volleyball - 2-4 hours
Elementary Coach
Developmental Coach Workshop - 4 four-hour sessions
Developmental Coach Evaluation
Different training for different programs
