Kids to Kitties Reading Program:

**If you plan to bring more than one child alone, please reach out to erins@hsslc.org so I can close the extra slot. If another adult is joining you with the other child, please create a profile for each adult

This program is designed to be mutually beneficial for students ranging from ages 6-15 who are wanting to improve their reading skills, and for shy and anxious shelter cats!

Kids to Kitties will allow children to make a positive impact on the world by helping animals in need. Research shows that reading can have a calming effect on shelter animals, which as a result increases an animals chance of being adopted and lowers the length of time they have to spend at the shelter.

Parents, you will be signing up on behalf of your child. Please make sure to either stay in the room with them or be next to the room watching in.

Reading slots will be Saturdays from 1pm-2pm, please watch the attached video link for a short orientation before you arrive, if you need to watch it here please arrive at 12:50 so we can get you set up.  Orientation Video

You would be able to bring your own book or choose one from our shelter library! We will have four different rooms set up for reading to kitties!
