Help Reiman Gardens' Science Communication Fellows!

Activity Description

During this experience, you'll engage with and evaluate Reiman Gardens' Science Communication Fellows' interactive activities for public audiences, which they will present for the first time during our Meet-A-Scientist event on Go Public Gardens Day (May 13). Education staff will lead groups of staff and volunteer evaluators through rotations of their activities. Evaluators will participate in conversations, games, and other engagement led by scientists, and then will complete a written evaluation form to provide constructive feedback to help our scientists refine their engagement with public audiences at Reiman Gardens and beyond. 

Opportunity Instructions

Please arrive by 2:00 PM to get materials and instructions, then engage with scientists! For 7-8 minutes scientists might ask you to play a game, answer some questions, watch a demonstration, or do an experiment. Then, for 3 minutes,  complete an evaluation. After a number of rotations (determined by the number of scientists), turn in the evaluations. Then get a prize! 🙂 Feel free to invite your family (kids included!), friends, and anyone else who wants to have fun and hang out with some scientists! (Anyone who is not a regular RG volunteer will need to sign in as a guest volunteer at the front desk upon arrival.)

Science Communication Fellows evaluations usually take place in the Garden Room. Check with the front desk upon arrival.
