Events - Plant Sale Extravaganza - Plant Sale Prep & Support (At Home Projects)
Activity Description
If you love databases and looking at pretty pictures of plants, we have a great opportunity for you! Help us prepare for our Online Plant Sale! We need volunteers to help look up plant care information, find photos, and write plant descriptions. Even better, you can volunteer from the comfort of your home while curled up in a blanket and drinking the hot beverage of your choice. Beverages and blankets not included.
Activity Instructions
- Email Kim Hope for an access link to the online spreadsheet that needs to be updated.
- Please only touch the RG tab. (There are a LOT of hidden columns, they should all have red headers in case they are accidentally unhidden. Please DO NOT touch! Thank you!😊)
- Look up the plant care information for new plants and add that information to the correct columns.
- Please follow the formatting instructions listed at the top of each column.
- Information will be uploaded as you enter it, so make sure it is correct!

- Double check all links (photo source), as they may not be active anymore. If they are no longer active, find a new photo*, update the link, and update the Photo Credit column if the source changed.
- *The URL for the new photo needs to end in "jpg".
- If you are having issues getting to a jpg file, try right clicking the image and select “open image in new tab”.
- For Descriptive Paragraph (2-4 sentences), make sure it explains why this plant is special.
- There is a character limit, so don't go too long.
