Volunteering with Reiman Gardens

Activity Description

Winter Wonderscape, two shifts/night (you'll be working in the heated Potting Shed).

What to do when you arrive

1. Enter though our main lobby (this might be quite busy and congested) or the East Gate (tell volunteers at the Kiosk that you are a volunteer heading in for your shift). The East Gate will only be available to enter after 5 p.m.
2. Sign in via Better Impact. Download the app and use that to sign in/out so you can bypass the front desk kiosk. 
3. Go directly to the S'mores Corner (located in the patio behind Hunziker).
4. Computer and other supplies will be set up in the Potting Shed. Get yourself logged in and welcome guests as they approach.
5. Use Walkie Talkie to let staff know if you need anything!

Training Instructions

1. Review the POS Quick Reference Guide
2. Review the Cashier Set-up and Take Down Procedures
3. Schedule a 15-minute training with Renee (we can have up to three volunteers join the same 15-minute window) if you need a refresher.
4. Complete the ORM Background Check sent via ISU's Office of Risk Management and HireRight.
5. Check your schedule on Better Impact the weekend of May 10-12 and let the Manager of Volunteer Engagement know ASAP if you are no longer able to participate or need to reschedule shifts.
6. To use the POS system, you'll need to remember your PIN, which is the last four digits of your phone number. Password: Plants&s'mores26
