Description: All volunteers interested in the Butterfly Wing Docent position must attend one training session. Once training is completed, a new Docent is asked to shadow at least one current Docent before committing to volunteering on their own.
Please note: All Butterfly Wing Docents are required to attend one Refresher Training session offered every April.
In-person training with the Butterfly Wing Curator includes:
- Reading through our USDA permit (this allows us to fly certain tropical species)
- A presentation on the Wing, butterflies, and Docent procedures
- Tour of the Wing
- Q & A
