Moose Jaw Pioneer Lodge Palliative Care Associate

Volunteers offer 1:1 visiting and deliver comfort items to patients' and families. They will communicate with the Palliative Care Coordinator for connection with additional supports.

Potential Volunteers must complete the Palliative Care Training per the Palliative Care Coordinator. Volunteers must be comfortable with patients at the end of life and have the ability to function in an emotionally stressful environment. Must be comfortable in a healthcare setting, accepting and open minded.

The Palliative Care Coordinator will provide Palliative Care Training, review the roles of the volunteer, boundaries, dying process and on-site orientation.

Shifts will vary depending on client's needs.
