Chaplaincy (18+ Only)
Please note, you must be 18 or over to apply for this role.
Chaplaincy volunteers play an important role within our Barnsley Hospital Chaplaincy Team. Our Chaplaincy Volunteers visitors are drawn from a wide variety of faith and need to be a member of good standing within their own faith or philosophical tradition. Our volunteers are trained and supported in offering a friendly, compassionate and a non-judgemental listening presence to patient, families and staff.
Our Chaplaincy Volunteers assist the work of the Chaplains and are assigned to a specific ward to spend time with patients on a one-to-one basis, providing companionship, pastoral and spiritual support as needed. Such as 'being there' for patients and offering a listening ear or prayer support as appropriate.
