Food Drive Pickup Assistant (18+)
Ride along with our Van Driver volunteer to drop off donation bins, and pick up filled donation bins from local schools and businesses who have run food drives on our behalf. Transport donations back to Kerr Street Mission. Suitable for volunteers 18+ who can lift up to 50lbs with ease and who are willing to make a weekly commitment to the role.
Available shifts: Thursdays from 9-11am, with additional shifts available at peak donation times
Responsibilities:
- Ride along with another volunteer to assist with food drive bin pick-ups and drop-offs.
- Help to load and unload donations to and from van, putting items away in designated locations at KSM.
- Clear the truck out and ensure it is clean and tidy.
- Greet donors warmly and thank them on behalf of KSM.
- Represent KSM positively in the community.
- Clear the truck out and ensure it is clean and tidy.
- Keep the KSM warehouse and work areas clean and organized according to warehouse processes. Take out recycling and other clutter as needed.
- Maintain a courteous and professional manner with staff and other volunteers
Requirements:
- Must be 18+
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with ease
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good multi-tasking skills
- Ability to take direction and complete tasks efficiently
- Good problem-solving ability
- Attention to detail
- Organized and communicative
Commitment: Minimum 6 month commitment
