Youth Program Support (Game Day)
Seeking 2–4 volunteers to support our Game Day Youth Program by creating a fun, welcoming, and inclusive environment where youth can connect through board games and card games while building friendships, teamwork, and social skills.
Available Shift:
Wednesdays | 3:15 PM – 5:30 PM
Responsibilities:
- Welcome youth and help them feel comfortable joining activities.
- Set up and organize board games and card games before each session.
- Explain game rules and help participants learn new games.
- Facilitate gameplay while encouraging teamwork, fair play, and respectful communication.
- Help youth choose games that match their interests and experience levels.
- Encourage participation and ensure everyone feels included.
- Help maintain a safe, positive, and engaging environment.
- Assist with cleaning up and organizing games and supplies at the end of the session.
- Report any safety concerns or behavioural issues to program staff.
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Enjoy working with youth (ages 11–15) in a positive, patient, and encouraging manner.
- Friendly, reliable, and comfortable engaging with youth.
- Interest in learning and facilitating a variety of board games and card games.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and fellow volunteers.
Commitment:
September 16 – June 23 (Wednesdays, 3:15 PM – 5:30 PM).
