Food Services Donation Pickup Assistant (18+)
Ride along with our Van Driver volunteer to help pick up large food donations from our donors and transport them back to Kerr Street Mission. Suitable for volunteers 18+ who can lift up to 50lbs with ease and who are willing to make a weekly commitment for a minimum of 6 months.
Available shifts are Thursdays 10:30am - 12:30pm.
Responsibilities:
- Ride along with another volunteer to assist with donation pick-ups and drop-offs.
- Help to load and unload food partner donations to and from van, putting items away in designated locations at KSM.
- Clear the truck out, taking out the skid and clean anything else that may have spilled
- Keep the KSM warehouse and work areas clean and organized according to warehouse processes. Take out recycling and other clutter as needed.
- Maintain a courteous and professional manner with staff and other volunteers
Requirements:
- Must be 18+
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with ease
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good multi-tasking skills
- Ability to take direction and complete tasks efficiently
- Good problem-solving ability
- Attention to detail
- Organized and communicative
Commitment: Minimum 6 month commitment
