Welcome to our Volunteer Opportunities Page

We invite and welcome citizens in our TriCities communities to join our diverse team of healthcare volunteers!

Our Team

The Fraser Health TriCities Healthcare Volunteer team is a diverse and dynamic group of over 400 volunteers, with numbers steadily increasing. Ranging in age from 16 to 90, these dedicated individuals provide crucial support across Acute Care Hospitals, Long-Term Care Residential facilities, Patient and Public Services, Healthcare Special Events, and assist in Disaster/Emergency Response efforts.  Notably, 62.5% of the volunteers are multilingual, reflecting a rich cultural diversity that enhances their ability to serve the community effectively.

Our Culture

At Fraser Health TriCities, our culture is rooted in a team-based approach and 360 degrees of leadership, fostering a collaborative environment where everyone contributes to our shared mission. We emphasize four key pillars of experience: volunteer experience, patient experience, public experience, and provider experience. Guided by a strong commitment to performance, our focus is on unity and consistency, with one team working towards one goal. This commitment drives our persistent and effective communication, collaboration, and cooperation, ensuring that we collectively achieve our objectives and excel in our roles.

Our Four Pillars

The Volunteer Experience - emphasizes the importance of a mutually beneficial partnership between volunteers and the TriCities Volunteer Resource Department and Program Services. This collaboration ensures that volunteers receive meaningful and fulfilling opportunities while contributing effectively to healthcare operations. By aligning volunteer roles with their skills and interests, and providing ongoing support and recognition, Fraser Health TriCities fosters a rewarding environment that enhances both the volunteer's experience and the overall quality of care delivered to the community.  The second, third, and fourth pillars of Fraser Health TriCities Healthcare Volunteer Team—patient experience, public experience, and provider experience—are deeply interconnected, with the volunteer experience serving as a crucial foundation for their success. A positive and supportive volunteer experience directly enhances patient interactions, enriches public engagement, and supports healthcare providers by ensuring that volunteers are well-prepared and motivated. This synergy ensures that the Volunteer Resource Department can effectively support and serve the community, creating a seamless and impactful healthcare experience for everyone involved.
