About Nature Club

Railway Gardens family Nature Club runs after school on Wednesdays in term times. It is for Nursery and Primary school age children. Many families in the Splott area lack access to gardens or green spaces, so a club to explore, enjoy and appreciate nature is so important. We have been told by families that Nature Club is the highlight of their week!

Each week we set up a few stations with different things to try under the same theme, including sensory activities, creative activities, crafts, games, gardening, and cookery.

We would love you to join us.

It is a great way to share your skills or build your experience.

If you are a keen gardener, knowledgeable about nature, passionate about play or interested in giving back to your community, there is something for everyone.

Nature Club roles

There are lots of different roles available and there is no need to commit to a specific role. Some people like to stick to one, others prefer to mix it up! You can sign up for more than one role in the same week, as long as the timings don’t overlap. IMPORTANT: please be aware of the time commitment for each role; it is really important that people arrive on time for the club to run smoothly and safely

About the Set up Volunteer role

What else do I need to know?

·  You will be asked to complete a quick online Safeguarding module and read a Risk Assessment before you start volunteering at Nature Club. If you are a new volunteer at Railway Gardens you’ll also be asked to complete a short in-person Volunteer Induction with Julia when you have time - you don’t have to have done your induction to begin volunteering!

·  Volunteers receive a weekly email with a brief summary of the previous session and what’s coming up for the next sessions.
