2. Lead volunteering roles - 🥘 Friendly Friday lead volunteer

Friendly Fridays are our monthly community cook up and shared lunch. They are a chance for people to get together, enjoy trying new recipes, and have a chat over good food.
We're looking for someone to support session leader Paula at these monthly events and lend a hand with...
- Welcome people and helping them fill in registration forms, collecting allergy information
- Supporting the cooking directly, and by supporting participants with their cookery tasks
- Helping keep the kitchen tidy and organised throughout the session, including helping with washing up.
- Encouraging participants to complete feedback forms
You do not need a high level of cooking skill or knowledge to carry out this role; if you feel confident in basic cooking skills such as preparing veg then this could be a role for you. Rather than loads of cooking knowledge we're looking for someone who is warm and welcoming, happy to jump between different tasks, and able to work alongside Paula to keep everything running smoothly.
This is a good opportunity to develop and demonstrate skills in...
- Cookery, food skills, food safety and hygiene
- Event management and working with the public/ customer service
- Working as part of a team
- Good communication
By taking on this role you will also...
- Build your confidence in meeting new people
- Help reduce loneliness and isolation in the community
- Support more people to enjoy cooking
Please sign up to express an interest in this role, and we'll be in touch.
