Surgical Services Volunteer
Volunteers will support patients and their families during the patient's surgical experience, through accompanying parents during their child's initial stage of anaesthetic induction, and/or when the patient is first awake in the post anaesthetic care unit. As well providing support to in-patient patients.
• Accompany parents/caregiver into the O.R. as requested by medical team
• Assist parents/caregiver to acquire appropriate O.R. attire
• Attend to parents/caregiver who wish to remain with their child while undergoing anaesthetic induction in the operating room
• Accompany parents/caregiver in and out of the O.R. with their child to the waiting room
• Accompany parents/caregiver into the PACU as requested by the nursing team
• Room visits with In-Patient patients
