Do you enjoy playing make belief, crafting and engaging children in play? Emily's Backyard is recruiting for volunteers to provide supervised play in a manner that recognizes each child's emotional, social, intellectual and physical needs. As a unique play / waiting area for patients and their siblings volunteers will interact with children of all ages, parents and the public. Some roles and responsibilities include:
- Encourage age appropriate interaction through cooperative activities
- Adapting activities to match ages, skill and activity levels present in the area
- Encourage appropriate use of toys and craft material
- Monitor group dynamics
- Give one to one attention to children requiring extra care
