Healing Gardens & Horticultural Therapy

The Healing Gardens and Horticultural Therapy programs at the Alberta Children’s Hospital have been in place since 2008. These programs have established strong connections with gardens and natural spaces for patients, families, and staff. Programming options for patients now include opportunities to utilize accessible outdoor spaces, grow plants, and interact with the natural environment in ways that meet targeted therapeutic goals. We rely on our garden volunteers to help maintain these garden spaces and offer patients, families, and staff with beautiful and therapeutic outdoor spaces.
