Classroom or Camp Volunteer
Support teachers and students in our afterschool STEM program.
Summer Camp dates, sites, and hours vary, but requirements are the same.
Who: 18+
Commitment: Minimum of 1 hour, 1 afternoon per week for 27 weeks Sept - May
Hours: 1-3 hours between 1pm-5:30pm (school depending)
Days: 1 afternoon Monday-Friday
Where: Elementary schools in Richmond and Oakland
Required clearances:
1) Fingerprinting (livescan)
2) Proof of negative TB Test
3) CA mandated reporter training
Responsibilities:
- Support the teacher in delivering project-based, in-person STEM lessons.
- Assist with activity set-up and clean-up.
- Build relationships with students, focusing on socio-emotional development and individual strengths
- For select schools, Spanish is a plus, but not mandatory.
