Ward Ambassadors provide emotional and practical support to patients and families including siblings, parents or carers. In the Children's ward this support may also be in the form of playing with a child or reading a book to a sibling for their own enjoyment or so a parent can take a break.
Volunteers must be interested in supporting people of all ages as well as their families. The skills required of the role are being able to approach and introduce yourself to families to offer assistance, ability to read the mood and body language of people and demonstrate care and compassion for others.
Volunteers for this Ward must also be flexible to support dual Adult and Children's ward
