McCulloch House has volunteer positions available, to provide companionship, and support the wellbeing of patients and families/visitors during a difficult time in their lives. Our experienced volunteers know that a small, but meaningful, moment can make a huge difference. You do not need formal qualifications or previous experience. All training will be provided. This volunteering role will require compassion, sensitivity and emotional maturity.
We require a commitment to regular (weekly) 3 hour shifts, between 8.30am & 5.00pm Monday –Friday
You will collaborate with staff and communicate with patients and their family/visitors regarding needs. It might be as simple as a quiet chat or taking a walk in the garden.
It is a requirement of this role that you complete Palliative Care Victoria Training (some elements may be completed online). You will also undertake Monash Health online modules and receive ongoing support, guidance and supervision from our Volunteer Coordinator.
