Resident visitor- Chestnut Gardens (Doveton)

Resident Visitor

Monash Health volunteers in residential aged care facilities aim to support residents to feel a part of their community through helping them engage in structured/unstructured activities or providing social support.  These interactions can be both mentally and/or physically engaging.  Examples of duties include:

  • Spending one on one time with residents discussing their interests or topical events.
  • Reading a magazine, newspaper or book of interest to the resident
  • Completing crosswords, puzzles and other games as appropriate
  • Assisting wellness staff in group activities
  • Accompanying residents on short walk through gardens
  • Assisting residents to connect with family and friends via online technology
