Monash Children's Hospital- Inpatient ward volunteer

- what experience you have with babies, children, teenagers and families.
Paediatric Ward Volunteers provide emotional, social and practical support to patients, siblings, parents or carers. Some examples of this support include: playing a card game with a patient, reading a book to a sibling, providing a listening ear to a parent, or enabling a parent to take a break.
Applicants must:

be interested in supporting paediatric patients (from babies through to teenagers), as well as their families, and

have some prior experience working/volunteering/spending time with babies, children, teenagers and families.
The skills required of the role are being able to approach others and introduce yourself to families to offer support, ability to read the mood and body language of people, and demonstrate care and compassion for others.
Shifts: Morning & Afternoon, weekdays
Available shift include
- Monday 9.30am - 1.30pm
- Tuesday 1 - 5pm
- Wednesday 9.30am - 1.30pm
- Wednesday 1 - 5pm
- Friday 1 - 5pm
