Cultural Orientation Facilitator

Cultural Orientation (CO) is a required resettlement service provided to all refugees within the first three months of their arrival to the United States.  Cultural Orientation (CO) Facilitators collaborate with HIAS resettlement staff and language appropriate interpreters to plan and facilitate engaging and interactive lesson plans on required CO topics to new refugee arrivals.  Through facilitation of classroom CO classes, CO facilitator help refugees to become familiar and better navigate the local systems, lifestyles, and customs in their new community and environment.   If you are professional or expert on one of the following topics below and are interested in teaching a CO class, this may be the volunteer opportunity for you!
