Culture Shock exposes families in to arts and culture in unique and unusual ways. By altering and enhancing perceptions of arts and culture individuals and families can expand their horizons, broaden their tastes and deepen their understanding of the world around them. Once a connection to culture has been made, the effects can be lifelong, bringing satisfaction and a sense of community. Culture Shock promises to offer engaging, exciting and creative events throughout the year for families to take part in arts and culture activities.

The goal of Green Life is to educate residents and businesses about environmental concerns that affect them and to empower them to make choices that will improve life for all residents. Topics for Green Life events include: recycling, energy efficiency, pollution reduction, water conservation, sustainability and environmentally friendly cleaning products.

As a Green Life Team Member you might:

• Assist CFI staff and other team members at community forums on green education.

• Set-up and tear-down/clean up materials and equipment as needed.

• Interact with public to answer questions, engage interest and promote learning.

Oak Street Senior Apartments is an apartment building for low income seniors located in downtown Flint, developed by Communities First, Inc.  CFI renovated the historic Oak School, re-purposing a blighted structure and providing an amazing home for seniors.

Our Activity Leader Team members provide arts, cultural and educational activities in a safe and welcoming environment to residents of Oak Street Senior Apartments.
