Objective: Volunteers would be helping with donations received from our store partners, bag produce, and assisting in repacking donations for distributions.
Location: Where is The Food Depot?
The Food Depot warehouse is located behind Kitchen Angels/Kitchenality at 1222 Siler Road, right off Cerrillos or Agua Fria. Please proceed through the black gate to the left of Kitchenality. Park anywhere in our gravel lot. Our front door is in the middle of the warehouse. You will see a "Donate Here" sign next to our front door, along with a logo for The Food Depot and a picnic table. Our front door is locked, so please ring the doorbell to enter. Wait in the lobby area for the rest of your group to arrive and the Volunteer team will check you in and let you know what we will be repacking that day.

Key Responsibilities:

Evaluating the quality of donated and bulk purchased foods

Sorting donated food

Repackaging bread, produce, and bulk dry goods

Packaging pantry and produce bag/boxes

Repackaging donated items and purchased diapers
Clean your workspace:
Tidy up your station and properly dispose of any trash. Sweep and wipe down tables after every shift.
Qualifications:

Ability to lift 5 pounds
-
Sure-footed and able to stand for an entire 2.5-hour shift

Ability to complete repetitive motions, bend, lift and twist

Ability and willingness to work as part of a team

Ability and willingness to accept guidance and instructions from staff
Dress Code: What do I wear?
We will be repacking food, so please dress comfortably. Closed toed shoes are required. We will provide gloves and hairnets. If you want to bring your own hat to wear, you will not need to wear a hairnet. You will be standing the whole time so please dress comfortably.
Time Commitment: One or more shifts a month. You volunteer when you want.
Schedule Intervals: Shifts are daily, Monday-Friday shifts
