Food Pantry Restocking at Montgomery County Family Center

Join the Newcomer Network team at the Montgomery County Family Center to help restock and organize the food pantry that serves immigrant and refugee families in our community. Volunteers will play an essential role in ensuring food items are properly sorted, stocked, and accessible for distribution. This hands-on service project helps maintain an efficient pantry operation and supports families experiencing food insecurity.

Volunteer Tasks May Include:

• Sorting and organizing donated food items
• Restocking pantry shelves and storage areas
• Checking expiration dates and rotating inventory
• Packing food bags or boxes for client distribution
• Assisting with general pantry organization and cleanliness
• Moving food donations and supplies as needed

Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry moderate-weight boxes and food items
• Comfortable with standing, walking, bending, and light physical activity for several hours
• Closed-toe shoes recommended
• Volunteers should be prepared for physical work and light lifting throughout the shift
