AmeriCorps RSVP - Hospital/Hospice Care
Through a grant that the Southern Maine Agency on Aging receives from AmeriCorps Seniors Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), we have the ability to partner and recruit for volunteer opportunities at other nonprofits!
The Hospital Elder Life Program (HELP): Maine Medical Center (Biddeford and Portland) seek to aid patients over the age of 70 in maintaining their cognitive, physical, and emotional well-being while hospitalized by working as part of an interdisciplinary team to improve the hospital experience. Other Opportunities at Maine Medical Center include helping with the Food Pantry, Gift Shop and Transitional Care Communities.
Affinity Care of Maine (South Portland) is looking to recruit Hospice Patient Visitor Volunteers duties include patient visits, respite, deliveries, sitting vigil and/or bereavement duties.
Hospice of Southern Maine (Scarborough) is seeking volunteers to assist with direct care for patients, musical performance, offering Reiki healing work, bringing in service animals, making calls for patient’s overnight/weekend needs, or administrative support!
