Do you enjoy spending time with others? Help to reduce isolation and make a positive impact in the life of a senior person.

genU is a provider of the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS), funded by the Australian Government.

Our Volunteer Visitors spend time with a senior person who may be feeling isolated and lonely in their home. By visiting your client, you will build a meaningful connection. Your visits could include:

• Conversation and reminiscing
• Listening to music
• Playing cards or board games
• Looking at photo albums
• Sharing stories

With a little effort, you can make a significant difference to someone’s life.

The essential details: Be matched with a senior person in your local area. Visit them in their own home or aged care facility. 

Support with screening, induction and ongoing guidance provided by your Volunteer Coordinator.

Please note: Three COVID-19 vaccinations are required to support an individual who resides in residential aged care. 

Role hours: One (1) hour per week or fortnight, during business hours (Monday - Friday, 9:00 - 5:00pm). Dependent on client preferences, opportunity for weekend volunteering may be available.
