DAY RESPITE ASSISANT

Help us provide a break to carers when they need it!

genU supports and maintains care relationships between carers and clients by providing respite and support for carers of frail, older people (over 65 years), including those with dementia.  

The Lodge is a respite service which provides a much needed break for primary carers looking after their loved ones at home. Participants enjoy activities designed to develop, maintain or support independent living and social interaction.  

Volunteers can offer assistance with fun activities, or spend time with guests 1:1. 

The essential details: Volunteers must be patient, empathetic and able to interact and communicate well with older people. Compassion for dementia is highly essential for this role. Must be able to follow procedures as requested, and be reliable and consistent in attendance

Role Hours: Monday – Friday, 10:00 - 3:00pm. You may offer the whole day or bite sized shift.
