SOCIAL SUPPORT HOME VISITOR

Help to reduce isolation and make a positive impact in the life of a senior person.

genU’s Social Support Home Visiting Program aims to support frail older people, to have increased social participation and access to the community.

Our volunteer visitors are matched with an older person to support them to have increased social participation and stay connected to their community. Through home visits, and local community outings, you will help your client to maintain their community links and reach their goals. With some fun and laughter along the way!

genU will match you with an elderly community member. Based on your shared interests, location and life experiences, so that you can build a positive connection. Through offering your time you will contribute to the wellbeing and happiness of an individual.

You will have support with screening, induction and ongoing guidance provided by your Volunteer Coordinator.

The essential details: You must be aged 25 years and above, have your own vehicle with full comprehensive car insurance, along with a current Australian driver’s licence with a safe driving history.

Role hours: Hours are flexible and bite-sized (approximately 2 hours a week), visit your matched client during business hours, Monday to Friday, 9:00 – 5:00pm.
